When you suggest a food from the Foodzone app and a reviewer accepts it, it joins the Australian food database for everyone. Accepted foods also earn you free time on Pro. For the step-by-step, see Suggest a food and earn rewards.

The ladder

Accepted foods You get
5 1 month of Pro
25 3 months of Pro
100 12 months of Pro

Each rung is reached once. The count is the number of your suggested foods a reviewer has accepted, across your whole history.

What counts

Only new foods you suggested that were accepted count towards the ladder. Reporting a problem with an existing food, adding a photo to one, or reporting a wrong barcode all help the database, but they do not count towards rewards.

A suggestion that turns out to already be in Foodzone is marked as a duplicate and does not count.

The review step

Every suggestion is checked by a reviewer before it goes public. While it is being reviewed you can already log it in your own diary — you will see it under your foods. If the reviewer needs something from you, the suggestion shows Needs info in My contributions and you can reply there.

How the months are applied

Free months are applied to your Foodzone account when a rung is reached. How that shows up depends on your plan and billing; My contributions shows how many accepted foods you have and what the next rung is.
